Day 27-28 July 4-5 Mission Beach-Kuranda (Cairns) 200km

Continued our journey further north to Cairns. Quickly drove through the city to get to Kuranda, a small village up in the costal highlands near Cairns. Stayed at the Kuranda Resort, a great spot on the edge of the rainforest. The kids enjoyed swimming in the pool and our room had loft that they took as "the kids room".

The next day we went for a ride on the Skyrail in Kuranda. It was a beautiful trip on a cable gondola through the rainforest canopy. We got to get off several times to walk through the rainforest. The trees and plants were amazing.

After that great trip we went shopping at the local markets in Kuranda....pretty much the most tacky touristy place I have seen, but the powder lolly dispensing machine was fun!

We then went to the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary and it was beautiful. Amazing to see how they keep so many butterflies.

We then continued our journey north to Mossman heading for Cape Tribulation. We went for a great walk in Mossman Gorge before staying the night at Wonga Beach caravan park.
